My commitment to readers
Whatever tools I use, I’m responsible for what I publish. My plots, characters, and stories are my own. I’ll keep this policy up to date as my practice changes, and I respect other authors’ right to make different choices.
I will not engage in the harassment of other authors for their decisions, though if I disagree philosophically I may not choose to support them or cross-promote.
My publishing
I do not use generative AI for my covers, illustrations, audiobooks (in the future) or translations (in the future). I work with human designers, narrators and translators. I do use tools that are AI assisted such as spell check and grammar check.
My business
I do not use AI for business activities such as data analysis, accounting, marketing, or correspondence. If that ever changes I will state that here.
My work and AI training
My books may not be used to train AI models without my permission and fair payment. Where possible, I have opted out of AI training on the platforms I use. I ask the editors, designers, narrators and other partners I work with to not use generative AI on my books.
